About the Event
DSA Clash is a team-based competitive programming event designed to test participant's knowledge of Data
Structures and Algorithms. The competition evaluates logical thinking, coding skills, algorithmic
problem-solving, and teamwork through two stages: Prelims and Mains. Teams will first compete in a quiz to
demonstrate their conceptual understanding, followed by a coding challenge where they solve programming
problems under time constraints.
Key Event Highlights
- Prelims Screening: 10-minute quiz (MCQs) testing core DSA fundamentals &
complexity analysis.
- Mains Challenge: 3-hour competitive programming sprint with 5 algorithmic problems.
- Language Freedom: Solve problems in any coding language that is supported by hackerearth.
- Live Leaderboard: Evaluated based on test cases passed, execution efficiency, and
speed.
Prelims
The Prelims is an objective quiz that evaluates participant's understanding of fundamental Data Structures
and Algorithms concepts.
Duration: 10 Minutes Questions: MCQs
Topics Covered
- Arrays
- Strings
- Linked Lists
- Stacks & Queues
- Trees
- Graphs
- Hashing
- Searching & Sorting
- Recursion
- Time & Space Complexity
Qualification: The highest-scoring teams will advance to the Mains round.
Mains
Selected teams will be presented with five programming problems of varying diffi-
culty levels, covering Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), to solve within the
allotted time
Duration: 3 hr Problems: Coding Questions
Evaluation Criteria
- Correctness of Solution
- Time Complexity
- Space Complexity
- Code Efficiency
- Problem-Solving Approach
- Submission Time
Rules & Regulations
- Participation is allowed only in teams of two members.
- Participants must carry a valid college ID card for verification.
- Participants must provide valid contact details during registration. The organizing team will not be
responsible if a participant cannot be contacted due to incorrect or invalid information.
- Each team will be provided with one computer system for the competition.
- Teams must report to the venue at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
- Only teams that qualify in the Prelims are eligible to participate in the Mains.
- Participants may use any programming language supported by the contest platform.
- Hidden test cases will be used for evaluation, and partial solutions may not receive full marks.
- The use of mobile phones, smart devices, AI tools, internet access, and any unauthorized reference
materials is strictly prohibited during the competition.
- Plagiarism, code sharing, impersonation, or any form of unfair practice will result in immediate
disqualification.
- Rankings will be determined based on the number of problems solved, correctness of submissions,
execution efficiency, and submission time.
- In the event of a tie, the team with the earliest correct submission will be ranked higher.
- The decisions of the judges and the organizing committee shall be final and binding.
